Voices of Trust

What Our Community Says

Parents, alumni, teachers, and donors share what Spandana School means to them.

Spandana School gave my children the same quality of education that urban families take for granted. The teachers genuinely care about every student and go beyond just academics.

I scored 88% in SSLC and am now studying Engineering in Dharwad. None of this would have been possible without the strong foundation Spandana gave me in every subject.

As a donor, I've seen exactly where my contribution goes. The impact is visible, measurable, and deeply meaningful for an entire rural community that deserves so much more.

Teaching at Spandana has been the most fulfilling work of my career. We may be a rural school, but our students compete with and outperform children from any city school.

My son studied here from Class 1 to SSLC. He's now a doctor. I was a farmer who couldn't afford any other school — KEARDS changed the future of my entire family.

The discipline, values, and confidence this school instills are extraordinary. Every time I visit my village I'm amazed by how much these children know and how confidently they speak.

About Us

Our Story & Mission

Started by youth who cared enough to act — and never stopped.

Our Story

From Temple Room to Three-Story Campus

KEARDS was founded by socially concerned youth who identified three core problems: poor quality of government school education, limited access to affordable private schooling, and the absence of proper facilities for underprivileged children.

The journey began in a rented room within a temple premises in 2006. The community rallied — donating land, funds, and labour. Today, Spandana School is a three-story institution recognised at the taluk level for academic excellence.

From 36 students in 2006–07 to 728 in 2025–26, every number tells the story of a family that chose to trust education over circumstance.

Why We Exist

Rural Karnataka Deserves Better

Kadaramandalagi is a village of 1,245 families in Byadgi taluk, Haveri district — population 5,805. Agriculture is the primary occupation. Many families depend on irregular or seasonal work.

In such communities, education is the strongest path to opportunity, dignity, and long-term development. We believe rural children deserve the same quality that urban children receive — without having to leave their village.

Academic Philosophy

How We Teach & Why It Works

Spandana School follows the Karnataka State Board (KSEAB) curriculum for Classes 1 through 10. Our academic programme is built around concept clarity, regular evaluation, and the deep belief that rural children can achieve at the same level as urban students when given the right environment.

Teachers at Spandana undergo regular training and are encouraged to use activity-based learning, peer discussion, and real-world examples to make subjects come alive. Classes are kept at manageable sizes to ensure every student receives individual attention.

The school runs Classes 1 to 10 (Primary, Upper Primary, and High School). Medium of instruction is Kannada, with English taught as a first language from Class 1. Students also study Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and Computer Science.

Assessment

How We Evaluate Students

📝

Formative Assessment (FA)

4 formative assessments per year covering oral tests, assignments, projects, and classroom activities. Each accounts for 10 marks out of the total. Focuses on continuous learning rather than rote performance.

📋

Summative Assessment (SA)

2 summative exams per year — SA1 in September and SA2 (Annual) in March. These are standardised written exams aligned with KSEAB patterns and SSLC preparation from Class 8 onwards.

🎯

SSLC Board Exam (Class 10)

Students appear for the Karnataka SSLC Public Examination conducted by KSEAB. Spandana has achieved 100% pass results in multiple years, with many students scoring Distinction (above 75%) and state-level rankings.

🏅

Internal Competitions

Regular GK quizzes, elocution contests, science exhibitions, and spelling bees keep students engaged and help identify talent early for external competitions like Prathibha Karanji.

Teaching Staff

Our Dedicated Teachers
